I was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Spent most of my childhood living in Lima, Peru. Two years ago I moved to Toronto to go to university here. I have been working at Reingold Tutoring for almost a year now. I am going into the third year of my Physics and Astronomy specialist degree at the University of Toronto. I plan to continue with further education and either go into the research industry or the education industry, or maybe both! Tutoring is the best way for me to share my knowledge in some of these subjects and help someone else out like others helped me. If I can get my student to be just a little bit more interested in science or math, or feel a little bit more capable in these areas, I feel very accomplished. When I’m not studying or tutoring, I enjoy going for long walks with my dog, playing music and watching live concerts, and playing sports like tennis or basketball.

I am a student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, and majoring in Global Health. I have tutored high school math, sciences and English for about two years, and have been working at Reingold Tutoring for about one year. I love interacting with students and helping them gain a better understanding of their studies. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, and photography.

Hi, I’m Parsa, and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto’s Neuroscience specialist program. My fascination with science began in middle school and has been increasing exponentially ever since. In my program, we get to learn about cutting-edge neuroscience research and have the chance to apply our knowledge in the lab. I am currently a member of two separate research labs in well-known hospitals, focusing on improving my skillset for graduate school. I have also written and published multiple scientific papers on cancer genetics. As a tutor, my goal is to convince my students that science and math are fun and that with the right mindset anything can be learned efficiently. I try to tailor my study sessions to students’ needs and motivate them to enjoy the time they spend with the concepts.

I am a Master of Science graduate student at the University of Toronto. During the day, I work in a lab at The Hospital for Sick Children, studying lipid disorders that commonly affect diabetic patients. During the evening, I am a tutor for Reingold Tutoring! I have been working with Reingold Tutoring for the past two years, sharing my love of the sciences and mathematics with students of all grade levels! I discovered that I loved teaching early on in my academic career, as I grew up tutoring my younger brother, who has a learning disability. Working with him has helped me grow as a tutor and develop different techniques in supporting students with unique academic requirements. After all my work is done, I spend my free time hiking, kayaking, and making music in a Toronto-based orchestra!”

I am a second year student at the University of Toronto doing a biological chemistry specialist program. My science experience includes minor medical research work at CATS college Canterbury, UK, and a lab work in a synthetic chemistry lab at UofT. I am them planning to go to a medical school.
I enjoy tutoring, because I love seeing the spark in students’ eyes when they finally understand how something works. Besides improving students’ marks, my main goal is to show that science and mathematics can be extremely interesting and engaging, and that they are much more than just memorization.
Interesting fact about me: I am also an artist and have finished an academic art program in Moscow. Thus, you can guess that I bring a lot of pictures and infographics into my tutoring sessions to enhance learning and understanding. I am originally from Russia and moved to Toronto, ON, in 2017, so I also speak Russian. Additionally, I speak Ukranian and will be more than happy to provide help in those languages.

Hey, I’m Monica! I’m majoring in Communications Information Technology and minoring in French and Education Studies at University of Toronto, Mississauga. I hope to pursue a career in teaching in the future. As Abdul Kalam said, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an indiviual.” It has always been a dream of mine to make an impact on a child’s life. There’s no better feeling knowing I could help shed some light on a child’s learning capability. I love the joy and fulfillment it gives me if I can help a student simply understand a concept they’re struggling with, make learning fun for them or help them reach their fullest potential. In my free time, I love taking photographs, travelling, trying out new food places, and spending time with family and friends.

So, I personalize my teaching style to each student’s goals and needs. I like using creative examples to solidify the understanding of a concept. Working with North Neighborhood Services allowed me to tutor students from all age groups. Whether it’s learning through games or a structured problem-solving session, I love helping my students get the results they have always wanted. I used to be a competitive swimmer, and I still enjoy swimming in my free time.

I studied Biology and Economics at the University of Toronto. During my undergraduate degree, I conducted research on plant-microbe interactions, as well as the movement of chemical contaminants through the environment. I became a tutor because every student has a different learning style, and sometimes textbooks and the presentation of material in class alone aren’t enough for success. I love playing chess and video-games, and I’m a dog enthusiast (I own a German Shepherd)!

I’m currently in my first year of medical school at McMaster University, with a prior B.Sc. (2021) and M.Sc. (2023) completed at the University of Toronto. I have been working as a tutor with Reingold Tutoring for the past two years and have helped many students with homework, assignments, and general concepts across Science and English. I enjoy meeting new students, working with them to develop personalized learning plans, and watching them grow in their conceptual knowledge, problem-solving skills, and writing capabilities. I’m happy to take on new students and to provide support in becoming confident and independent in their learning and knowledge.

Hi! I’m Rachel and I’m a third year student born and raised in Toronto. Currently, I’m attending the University of Toronto, specializing in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, and minoring in Immunology. I am excited to get to know new students and tutor them in areas regarding math and science. When I am not busy with school, I love drawing. Over the past couple of years, I’ve been exploring digital art and seeing where my creativity takes me. As well, I am a classically trained pianist, having played piano since I was 4. I love discovering new songs and learning how to play them on the piano when I have the time. Aside from that, some of my other hobbies include baking, making origami, and spending time with my friends or family.

I’m an undergrad in Life Sci at the University of Toronto. I’m working toward a neuroscience major with a poli sci or psych minor. I’ve been tutoring throughout high school and going forward, so almost 4 years! Tutoring is one of my favorite things to do; just because I know some teachers’ learning styles don’t necessarily complement every student’s, so finding your own and applying it yourself is very important, and something I can definitely help with. Aside from tutoring, I love drinking variations of coffee, reading, writing poetry and short stories, and figuring out which show I should watch next.
Tutor
Hi everyone, I’m Amna! I’m currently a third year human biology/genetics student at the University of Toronto. I tutor high school level biology and chemistry, as well as general science, and mathematics. I’ve always been extremely interested in sciences, ever since I was little. I’ve enjoyed tutoring both in a volunteer and work environment, for the last 3-4 years, and am so excited to join Reingold tutoring! I enjoy teaching others about science, specifically chemistry and biology. As a tutor, I think it’s really important to understand that each child has a different learning type; they learn differently, at different paces, and as a tutor I want to make sure that everyone I tutor is comfortable and learning in an environment they are comfortable with. I encourage my students to ask as many questions as they need to make sure they fully grasp the concepts. In my free time, I enjoy playing Minecraft, hanging out with my friends, or binge watching a netflix show. I’m looking forward to working with you!

Hello! I’m Indira and I’m a second-year student at the University of Toronto, Scarborough specializing in Cognitive Neuroscience. I’ve always had a passion for science and my inquisitive nature pushed me to pursue it further. In the future, I hope to go to graduate school and continue studying (and hopefully teaching) the subjects I’m passionate about. I have two years of previous tutoring experience, but this is my first year working at Reingold! I chose to work in tutoring because I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to struggle with school. I believe that it’s okay to need extra help and I want to provide it by helping students get a better understanding of their studies in a fun and creative way. Outside of school, I love reading, swimming, going on nature walks, and just spending time with friends!

I am a fourth year student at the University of Toronto completing a double major in human biology and neuroscience. I have been tutoring for eight years and it’s my passion. Besides tutoring, I enjoy active hobbies like swimming and hiking as I believe physical health is important to academic success, and I am also an avid reader!
